By Air

Bogor do not have its own commercial airport. But because it is close to Jakarta, your destination airport should be Soekarno-Hatta (CGK). From the airport, you can continue by taxi or bus for a one hour trip to Bogor.

By Rail

PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek operates the rail services in the metropolitan area surrounding Jakarta. Currently, the service is not very reliable, delayed or canceled train is not uncommon.

To get to Bogor from Jakarta, you should take Pakuan Express train, which departs from Jakarta’s Kota station, with a stop in Gambir.  Don’t take the economy class train. It’s very crowded, and many pickpockets set their sights on your valuables.

By Road

The Jagorawi Highway, which extends from Jakarta to Bogor (and Ciawi), is the main road connecting the two cities. When the traffic is normal, it takes about 40 minutes driving. You should be informed that, at peak times, the trip from Jakarta to Bogor (and vice versa) can take approximately one and a half hours.

From Jakarta, taxis are available for a trip to Bogor. The two most reliable taxi services are Blue Bird Group and Express Group. Besides regular taxis, both company also offer premium taxi and car rental services.

Get Around

In Bogor, the main public transport is angkot, a minibus designed to hold as many as 10 passengers, serving a certain route with very cheap cost (around Rp 2,000). These minibuses are marked by numbers that show which route they serve.

There are also Trans Pakuan buses that serve Bubulak – Baranang Siang terminal route. These buses only stop at certain bus stops, similar to Trans Jakarta buses in the capital.

It is rather difficult to find taxi in Bogor streets. But you can take taxi from hotels and shopping malls such as Botani Square and Bogor Trade Mall.
